Ram Babu Gurung is widely regarded as one of the best filmmakers working in Nepali cinema today. His debut as a director was Kabaddi. He has made a bunch of films which are considered to be classics and the kind which can be viewed time and again to revel in their brilliance. His USP as a director and writer is bringing stories from the village and making the characters and circumstances from rural areas more compelling and relatable. His storytelling is very interesting, eccentric and flawed.
Self Taught Director Ram Babu Gurung is perhaps the only director who has successfully continued its Kabaddi sequel legacy of blending comedy, love and social issues into one story set in a semi-rural transitional setting. A special mention to his another movie “Saili” that surprised us with a great visual treat after a long long time & is an answer to those, who have been making noise on the social media, demanding a good Nepali movie.
