Suresh Bhattarai (Physicist, Astrophysicist) is a founder and chairman of Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO). His research interests are Planetary Science, Star Formation, ISM, High Energy Astrophysics, Astrochemistry and Astrobiology. He has eclectic experience on astronomy outreach and education in Nepal. He is a member at International Board of International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA). He served with different capacities: National Point of Contact, Co-Executive Secretary and Regional Coordinator for Asia Pacific at Space Generation Advisory Council in Support of United Nations Programmes on Space Applications (SGAC) during 2009-2017. He was the chartered secretary of Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO) (2007-2014). He was the National Point of Contact for Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) (2009-2013), SGAC office executive secretary for Vienna, Austria (2011-2013). At Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, he mainly guides students in laboratory works as well as supervises Final year Undergraduate Students in their research projects on Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Science. He has received the Space Generation Advisory Council Young Leadership Award in 2011. He has received the Science and technology promotion award, Nepal Academy Of Science And Technology (NAST) in 2017.
