Upendra Subba (Poet)
Upendra Bahadur Angdembe (Poet, Lyricist and Screenwriter) who is known as Upendra Subba, is a man of few words and a whole lot of simplicity. He is one of the initiators of the movement called Shrijanshil Arajakta (Creative Anarchy) along with Rajan Mukarung and Hangyug Agyat. He is best known for his poetry collections “Kholako gita ra purana kavitaharu” and “Dada mathi ko gham jun ra gadtirka raake bhut haru”. His music album is “Jiwan Akhir Ke Nai Ho Ra” published in 2006 A.D. He won a prize for the song “Jivan aakhir ke nai ho ra”. His first story pictured was “Keba Kokma” (Lato Pahad), movie in Limbu language, directed by Ravi Serma. He was awarded “Nepali Pratibha Award” by Nepali Pratibha Pratisthan in the U.K. in 2010 A.D. His book “Lato Pahad” (Stupid hill) won Padmashree award in 2015 A.D. He was awarded National award for the best screenwriter for movie Kabaddi jointly with Ram Babu Gurung.
